intro2

I am a “Baby Boomer”, was in High School when JFK was shot, and learned to type on a typewriter. I guess that “time happens” and so now I am a Geezer. I have been using computers since the late 70’s and have a tendency to purchase and learn to use the latest electronic gadgets as they appear. That makes me a geek. More importantly I have been helping, teaching and showing people how to use computers and gadgets for a number of years.

If you are finding that are simply “lost” when it comes to using your computer or feel that you are “computer illiterate”, then this site is place for you to take a look at. We have a series of simple videos to help you learn how to use and be more comfortable with your computer and how to use the gadgets that connect to your computer.

The videos are short, easy and will show you how to do a number of things with your computer. The first series – “Are you Safe on Your Computer” and “Is your computer Safe on the Internet” is for people who know how to send and receive email and know the basics of finding things on the Internet. In this series we will show you how to set up your computer, how to organize the information you have on your computer, how to back up your computer, how to greatly reduce spam, malware, spyware and viruses, how to safely down load programs and a lot more. The first series will help you begin to actually use your computer and greatly enhance your computer experience.

The second series has information on how to connect and use things like printers, digital cameras, digital video cameras, iPods, iPhones, MP3 players, and a lot more “gadgets” to your computer.

The third series is about how to use word processing, spread sheets, presentation, photo and movie software. We will be showing you how to use software you pay for such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Adobe Premiere Elements as well as some of the programs that come with your PC. We also will be showing you where to find good free programs such as Open Office and how to use them.

There is a membership area where you can ask questions, talk about and get expert help on computer questions and problems that you are experiencing. When we see a particular area that people are getting “stuck” on we will put together a series of instructional videos on that topic.

Learning to use your computer to do the things that you want it to do is what this site is about. Remember “you can do this, we can help”
